Speakers

Miguel de Castro Neto

Sub-director of NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he created the NOVA Cidade – Urban Analytics Lab, dedicated to matters of smart cities and urban analytics. He was Secretary of State for Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation in XIX and XX Constitutional Governments of the Portuguese Republic and Smart Cities Personality of the Year (Green Business Week 2017, AIP Foundation). Develops his research and teaching work in the area of Business Intelligence and Smart Cities, with emphasis on the direction of the Masters in NOVA IMS Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence, currently classified as the “World Best Master Program in Business Intelligence” by the Eduniversal international ranking, where it teaches Business Intelligence curricular units.

Ariel Cruz Asuncion

Gilson Correia

Electrical Engineer, graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, specializing in renewable energies. He was an engineer at the Portuguese company Circuitos, in Cape Verde, for 4 years (2013-2016), being responsible for the design and execution of renewable energy projects, energy efficiency and energy audit. He has over 8 years of experience in the renewable energy and energy management sector. University professor, being a regular collaborator at the University of Cape Verde and trainer in professional education. He is currently Administrator of CERMI (Center for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance) and Coordinator of the Projects and Service Provision Office. And since January 2019 he has been a non-executive Director of the company 3C (Cape Verdean Competence Center).
